Nannies: The Unsung Heroes (NNRW2018)
It’s that wonderful time of year again! No, I’m not talking about Fall, although I do love Fall. It’s National Nanny Recognition Week 2018 and I’m ready to celebrate all of the hard-working, talented, loving nannies out there! National Nanny Recognition Week began in 1998, and we are still celebrating 20 years later and rightfully so. Nannies are often the unsung heroes of families around the world everyday.
The nanny profession is often trivialized and not given the proper respect it deserves. However, nannies deserve the utmost esteem and admiration for the grueling work that they do all day, everyday. It isn’t easy not only making sure a child’s physical, cognitive, and social-emaotional needs are met, but also flourishing while keeping the child or children safe. Being a nanny can truly be rewarding, but also very isolating. So, we take this time to honor nannies everywhere! If you are a nanny or have a nanny, please see our giveaways below!
This year, Mirella Alexis is doing TWO different giveaways on Instagram for all of the amazing nannies out there AND the marvelous families who hire them!
- If you ARE a nanny – follow me on Instagram and comment with why you love being a nanny to be entered to win an awesome prize pack filled with goodies, gift cards, and a one-on-one nanny seminar on a topic of your choice from yours truly!
- If you HAVE a nanny – follow me on Instagram and comment on why you appreciate your nanny to be entered to win a prize pack that includes free babysitting services, gift cards and a one-on-one parent seminar on a topic of your choice with yours truly! Your nanny will also get an awesome prize pack filled with goodies, gift cards, and a one-on-one nanny seminar on a topic of their choice from yours truly! It’s a win-win!

(I really hope this is the post we’re supposed to comment on) I LOVE being a nanny and have been serving families since high school. It may have started as a way for a young woman to make some money on the side, but I learned that I have a genuine desire to help people and do what I can to better the lives of those around me. I also really enjoy working with children! I’m unsure if I want to have my own, but nannying fuels my inner child and allows me to be myself without any unnecessary stigmas for being a childlike adult. I’m able to mentor 3 beautiful kids and aid their families in a variety of ways when their parents need a break. My flexible schedule affords me the time that I need to pursue my passions and spend valuable time with my partner. #truthmoment I love that I always get to return the kids to their parents 😅 as I’m not ready for the full-time responsibility of 3 children, but if I want them someday I’m able to get a TON of practice in. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve this family and hope that I have a decent chance to win this contest! 🤞🏽
