Support Premature Babies this November
November is National Prematurity Awareness Month and Wednesday was World Prematurity Day.
In 2019, 1 in 10 babies (10.2% of live births) were born preterm in the United States. The rate of preterm birth in the United States is highest for black infants (14.0%), followed by American Indian/Alaska Natives (11.7%), Hispanics (9.8%), whites (9.2%), and Asian/Pacific Islanders (8.8%).
Compared with singleton births (one baby), multiple births in the United States were about 7 times as likely to be preterm in 2019.
I was born prematurely in April of 1983. The older I get, the more of my health issues can be traced to my prematurity. I am one of the more fortunate ones. Not every baby or mother survives, especially unscathed. We need to help put an end to premature births.
If you make a Beautycounter purchase this November, 5% of each order will go to the March of Dimes, an organization near and dear to my heart and that I’ve worked with the last several years. Please make a purchase today. Thank you! www.beautycounter.com/mirellamedrano
